Basic Knives

Essentially, you need 3 knivees in the kitchen.

1. The knife on the left is a large cutting knife. It is used to chop and slice.

2. The knife in the middle, a utility knife, is most useful or cutting around large bones in meat, poultry, and fish.

3. The knife on the right is a paring knife. It is used to peel vegetables, fruit, and garlic.

4. As you become more experienced in the kitchen you may want to buy additional knives for more specific purposes, but these three knives should give you a very ample start.
